Under the supervision of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and the Myanmar Basketball Federation, the final event and awarding ceremony of the 2023-2024 Inter-State/Region Basketball Championship (Men’s and Women’s events of 5 on 5) was held at the Wunna Theikdi Gymnasium C yesterday. The State Administration Council members joined the event.
The Sagaing Region team beat the Magway Region team in the women’s 5 on 5 Basketball Championship final event, while the Mandalay Region team won over the Shan State team in the men’s event.
Next, an awarding ceremony was held, and the State Administration Council members presented awards to the winning teams plus talented players.
The basketball competition was held from 26 January to 1 February at the Wunna Theikdhi Gymnasium C in Nay Pyi Taw. Three hundred and sixty-nine athletes from 12 male and 11 female teams participated in the competition. — MNA/KZL
