48th Anniversary Mon State Day celebrated in Mawlamyine

The opening ceremony of venues marking 48th Anniversary Mon State Day, Mon State Day celebration and state honorary titles giving ceremony were held at Mawlamyine Township Hall yesterday.
The events were attended by State Administration Council members Dr Banya Aung Moe and Mahn Nyein Maung, relevant ministries’ Union Ministers, Sate Chief Minister, Commander and invited guests.
First, SAC members Dr Banya Aung Moe and Mahn Nyein Maung, Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, Union Minister for Ethic Affairs U Saw Tun Aung Myint, Mon State Chief Minister U Zaw Lin Tun, Mon State Economic Affairs Minister Nai Layi Tama and Mon State Ethnic Affairs Minister U Khin Maung Oo cut the ribbon to launch the display booths of 48th Anniversary Mon State Day and viewed the 53 booths.
Then, the officials saluted the State Flag together with the participants to the ceremonies.
SAC member Dr Banya Aung Moe read out the message sent by SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing to the ceremony to mark the 48th Anniversary Mon State Day.
Next, Mon State Chief Minister U Zaw Lin Tun delivered a speech.
Union Minister U Saw Tun Aung Myint, Mon State Chief Minister U Zaw Lin Tun, Commander of the South-East Command Maj-Gen Ko Ko Maung, Mon State Chief Justice U Nyi Nyi Soe and Mon state cabinet ministers gave the excellent awards in the economy, industry, breeding, agriculture, management, service, education and health, social, environmental, researching, security and rule of law sectors to 51 recipients.
Then, Border Affairs Union Minister Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung presented 100 pairs of solar connectors to the state chief minister.
The Mon Cultural Dance Troupe of Mudon Township, Kayin Cultural Dance Troupe of Kyaikmaraw Township and Pa-O Cultural Dance Troupe of Paung Township performed in their ethnic languages and the officials provided cash awards to the dance troupes.
The Mon State conserves their language, literature, arts, culture and traditions and makes efforts to develop the education, health, economy and transportation sectors.—MNA
