Security forces continue arresting illegal weapon manufacturers, owners

Security forces have identified and arrested manufacturers and owners of weapons and ammunition to be used in riots.
On 26 April, the security forces confiscated 20 iron shields, two bullet proof vests, eight fire bottles and a piece of a homemade gun in Tamu, Sagaing Region; one homemade gun, one steel barrel, 30 balls in Htantaw village, Amarapura Township, Mandalay Region; five diesel bottles, 2.5 viss of gunpowder, 18 homemade bombs, four bags of iron bolts, 0.5 viss of iron nails and other related items in Tabinshwehti ward, Dala Township, Yangon Region.
Yesterday morning, 55 smoke bombs, 50 fibre helmets, 34 pairs of smoke goggles, 1 bow, 2 bowstrings, 18 arrows, 13 bullet proof vests and other related items were confiscated in the ward (15), South Okkalapa Township, Yangon Region.
It is reported that investigations are underway to take actions against those arrested and those illegal weapons to be used in riots. — MNA
