Q: A video of an armed group brutally killing a family with percussion lock firearms in Kalay Township has been posted on social media. Let me ask the truth about this video.
A: Armed insurgents came to the house of U Win Zaw Oo, who lived on Nwartaung Kyaung street, Nyaungpintha ward, Kalay Township, Sagaing Region at around 9:15 pm on 19 June and shot the family. This news was published on 20 June. Due to the shooting, U Win Zaw Oo died of a bullet wound in the chest in front of the house, and his wife Daw San San Maw, son Ko Thiha Aung and son-in-law Ko Zaw Zaw died from gunshot wounds in the house. His daughter Ma San Shwe Oo who was shot in the abdomen and injures to the right eyebrow was taken to Tatmadaw hospital for medical treatment. According to the local people, the video uploaded on the internet was the incident that happened in Nyaungpintha ward, Kalay Township. The brutal killing of an innocent family is a shock to the community. Authorities are working with the public to arrest the culprits as soon as possible.
Q: In the morning of June 24, 15 soldiers, one PDF member were killed and three PDF members were injured in a clash between Tatmadaw and PDF in Minkin Township, according to Khit Thit Media. I would like to know whether this news is true or not.
A: Security forces were attacked by a group of 35 armed terrorists on the way from Pannsat village to Inpinhla village, Minkin Township, Sagaing Region on 24 June. While being retaliated, the armed terrorists retreated towards the north. Due to the clash, four terrorists were killed and 9 guns, 2 homemade mines, 3 wooden butts used in making percussion locked firearm, 4 iron pipes, 50 ticals of gunpowder and 50 lead balls were confiscated. – MNA
