Director-General Dr Thet Tin Nyunt joins the virtual meeting for the 76th Coordinating Committee on Geoscience Programmes in East and Southeast Asia-CCOP Steering Committee.  

A virtual meeting for the 76th Coordinating Committee on Geoscience Programmes in East and Southeast Asia-CCOP Steering Committee was held yesterday.
The Virtual Meeting was chaired by officials from CCOP Headquarters in Bangkok and CCOP Member Permanent Representative to Myanmar Director-General Dr Thet Tin Nyunt from Department of Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, participated in the discussion.
The CCOP is facilitating and coordinating the implementation of applied geoscience programmes in East and Southeast Asia to contribute to economic development and improved quality of life within the region.
Myanmar joined the meeting and discussed research and identify disaster risk reduction measures of Geological Sciences and the practical implementation of the benefits available.
The meeting was attended by a total of 66 representatives from the International Geological Survey (CCOP Technical Secretariat). —MNA
