Technical assistance can revive Myanmar tourism for post-COVID-19: MOHT

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Maung Maung Ohn attended the coordination meeting with officials of Skylark Company that introduces the post-COVID-19 tourism support application yesterday in Nay Pyi Taw, in line with the COVID-19 control guidelines.
At the meeting, the Union Minister said it is necessary to travel in a new normal way in the future due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the application is supposed to be used effectively in the new normal mode, benefiting all the people and tourists during COVID-19, as well as supporting the tourism industry in the long run. He called for discussions on the technical assistance which will effectively revive tourism in the post-COVID-19 period.
Managing Director of Skylark Company U Min Myat Soe Moe presented the company’s technical free supports of quarantine centre management system, certificate management system to Inya Centre and the quarantine centre in Mawlamyine during the second wave of COVID-19. He also explained the procedures of the Tourism Portal/App, basic features of the mobile app and benefits for application users.
The Directors-General discussed the situation to consider for the mutual benefit of the tourists, and departmental officials asked questions about the application and discussed.
The Union Minister said the Ministry would be able to monitor tourist arrivals and know the latest update on information, vaccination status of the tourists, travel history and COVID-19 information through the application. — MNA
