Import processes for Covid-19 protective supplies, including oxygen, are being allowed through the Myawaddy border to assist in the prevention and control of the pandemic.
On 17 July, 13 vehicles crossed over the Myawaddy-Myanmar Friendship Bridge No. 2 of the Myawaddy border.
Vehicles will transport essential products, including Liquid Oxygen, Oxygen Cylinders, Oxygen Concentrators, PPE uniforms, and face masks to relevant regions and states, officials said.
Department of Commerce Myawaddy Trade Zone cooperated with the traders to ensure that these Covid-19 protective aids and equipment are easily and quickly accessible to the public.
According to the Myawaddy Trade Zone, the import of oxygen concentrators does not require an FDA-approved import licence. And the Myawaddy Trade Zone allows for a pre-withdrawal fee of 3% duty-free. —Htein Lin Aung/GNLM
