Besides, there will be artwork that will depict Myanmar culture, said the officer in charge of the construction of the Yangon City main pandal.
Although the Myanmar Traditional Water Festival has not been held for two years to control the spreading of COVID-19, the plan is now underway to make Yangonites have fun and recreation following Myanmar tradition and culture in the coming Myanmar New Year.
This year, Yangon Maha Thingyan Water Festival main pandal includes Myanmar traditional dancing competition and ethnic culture dancing competition. Besides, other music performances will also be included, according to the YCDC.
The construction of the Yangon Maha Thingyan Water Festival main pandal will be completed by 10 April, according to the official from YCDC.
Thingyan (water festival) is the biggest and most popular festival in Myanmar and this is very attractive to tourists. It is not only known as the Thingyan festival but also as the Myanmar Traditional New Year Festival which usually occurs in the middle of April and is usually celebrated over a period of four to five days. — Pwint Thitsa
