Ministry of Border Affairs holds water festival ceremony

The Ministry of Border Affairs held the opening ceremony of the water splashing festival to celebrate the Maha Thingyan, which falls yesterday morning, 1383 ME, at the Thingyan pandal of the ministry. The ceremony was held under the COVID-19 preventive measures and was attended by Union Minister Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung and his wife, the deputy ministers and wives, officials and staff family.
The Union minister and the deputy ministers opened the ceremony by cutting the ribbon and welcoming this year’s Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan with the performance of the ministry’s dance troupes.
Afterwards, the Union minister and party happily participated in the festival and awarded the performers cash prizes. The ministry will celebrate the festival with singings and dances from 13 to 16 April, and the departments will serve a variety of food and snacks. — MNA
