According to the Shwesettaw Pagoda Board of Trustees, Mann Shwesettaw Pagoda, a historical and famous pagoda in Minbu (Sagu) Township of Magway Region, is bustling with pilgrims during the Thingyan New Year holidays.
“In the previous days, there used to be about 1,000 pilgrims a day, but not as many as now. I think pilgrims come here before the first day of Myanmar New Year. The current days are the Thingyan Water Festival holiday, and the Shwesettaw Pagoda will close on the first day of the Myanmar New Year. You know that the hostels are full,” said the vice-chair of the Shwesettaw Pagoda Board of Trustees.

This year, hostels are not allowed to stay overnight, but only from 6 am to 6 pm.
