After conceding a goal, the Vietnamese team increased their attack and scored the equalizing goal in the 23rd minute of the match by team Captain Huynh Nhu. At the restart of the second half, the Myanmar team put pressure on the Vietnamese team, and in the 56th minute of the game, San Thaw Thaw scored the equalizing goal, and the score was tied at 2-2.
Next in the 80th minute of the game, the Viet Nam got the third goal due to a misunderstanding between the Myanmar team’s defensive line and the goalkeeper.
After allowing the lead goal, the Myanmar team continued to attack and in the 83rd minute of the game, substitute Lin Myint Mo scored the equalizer.
The fourth or winning goal was scored in the 86th minute of the match by San Thaw Thaw, who got a hat trick in the match. At the end of the game, Myanmar won the third place by beating Viet Nam team 4-3. “I am very happy with today’s win. I am even more happy to have won the best player award and scored a hat trick for today’s match,” Myanmar star player San Thaw Thaw said at the press conference after the match. “It was only because our team was united and did not give up that we got the third place. Without the coaches’ training and my teammates, it would be impossible to score a hat trick like this. I am very proud and thankful to my teammates for today’s win,” San Thaw Thaw added. “Today’s victory of my players depended on the unity of the team. This result is mainly because the players were able to take lessons from the mistakes of the previous matches and rebuild themselves individually,” said Myanmar team head coach Daw Thet Thet Win. “Congratulations to the players. We still have a lot to do to improve Myanmar women’s football. We have to work harder for the players to become more professional. We must work together to have more players who can play internationally,” the coach added. In the final match, the Philippines team beat Thailand team and won the AFF Women’s Championship 2022 title.—GNLM
