YCDC chairman inspects greenery activities

Chairman of the Yangon City Development Committee Yangon Mayor U Bo Htay and officials observed the planting of seasonal flowers in nurseries and land preparation for new nurseries at the People’s Square and People’s Park in Dagon Township at 7 am on 18 August. Then, he exhorted responsible personnel to grow a variety of flowers including seasonal ones and display the information including botanical names of saplings and plants for the knowledge of visitors who came for daily physical activity and recreation.
Afterwards, the Yangon mayor viewed round the People’s Square and highlighted decorating the visual axis of the Shwe Dagon Pagoda with lamp posts, flower boxes and landscapes to depict the offering with flowers and candles, to upgrade the Elephant Pond and fountains and to repair the damaged concrete floor.
Then, he inspected the preparation of bamboo groves along the roadside of Wahshwewah lane and directed to fulfil the needs of the bamboo decoration work for relaxation, landscaping improvement and cleaning work of the path. — MNA
