Deputy Minister conducts fieldwork for development of agro-sector in Mandalay Region

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr Aung Gyi and officials inspected Institute of Agriculture in Patheingyi Township, Mandalay Region yesterday.
Officials reported on teaching the students in practical and theoretical measures.
The deputy minister said that the institutes have to arrange teaching and training for students to have readiness to join the workplaces so as to increase the competent human resources in the agricultural sector. He stressed the need to turn out capable farmers in applying modern agriculture and livestock farming techniques as vocational businesses and in sharing necessary techniques with others.
After that, the deputy minister gave food supplies and teaching aid to the teachers and students and inspected the teaching aid farms of the institute.
At Mandalay Coffee Group of Companies Limited in PyinOoLwin Township, Mandalay Region, the deputy minister viewed coffee production process.
In the evening, the deputy minister and officials arrived at PyinOoLwin Township’s Doekwin horticultural farm where the farm manager explained the operations of the plantation.
The deputy minister instructed officials to produce quality seeds of vegetables and train enthusiasts to grow vegetables and orchids with modern techniques and try to raise research and development.
The Doekwin horticultural farm is to collect orchid species, produce good quality vegetable seeds and conduct plant propagation suitable for the PyinOoLwin flowery city.—MNA/KZL
