Over K30 bln worth of Ice for carrying abroad captured in Thazi

Over K30 billion worth of 1.5 tonnes of Ice (Methamphetamine) which will be carried abroad was captured in Thazi township in Mandalay Region, Myanmar Police Force stated.
A combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force examined an eight-wheel fuel tanker, heading to Thazi from Kalaw, driven by Thein Win Swe (aka) Me Gyi accompanied by Kyaw Khaing Htwe at the Kywetetson checkpoint in Thazi township at noon on 4 March, according to information.
Officials captured a total of 1.5 tonnes of Methamphetamine worth K30 billion that were hidden from the vehicle’s body. Acting on a tip-off, Police arrested Ko Phone (aka) Phone Naing Win, a trafficker, at his house in Taunggyi township with a Ford auto at noon on 5 March.
Offenders admitted the seized drugs were carried from Shan State to Yangon Region and will be carried abroad by sea.
Police have taken legal action against the offenders and an investigation is underway to identify the perpetrators of the crime chain. — MNA/MKKS
