A CARGO vessel heading for Bayintnaung jetty, driven by one U Khin Maung Myint, 57, with eight crew members sank in Twantay Canal, near Tharsi village, Twantay township, yangon on Wednesday.
The accident was caused by permeation of water into the vessel. Total loss amounted to K257,000.
The vessel, called Shwe Thandar, was owned by one U Zayyar, 27. It was 91 feet long, 21 feet wide. The police have filed charges against U Khin Maung Myint.
