“With the government designating long holidays for the Thadingyut and Tazaungdaing festivals, the civil staff and Factories workers who are appointed in other regions can get a chance to meet their families,” said U Maung Ko, chairman of the KOG civil society organization.
The prominent pagodas, caves, hot springs, waterfalls, and ponds are crowded with local residents as well as local visitors in the public holidays.
“We are visiting Hpa-an for the first time by car with our neighbors and relatives. We are visiting the area as our children have the Tazaungdaing holidays. We have visited many significant pagodas such as Bayint Nyi cave, Yathaypyan cave, and Kawgun cave. We will continue our trip after eating fine food along the way. We will go back in the evening,” said U Ohn Maung, a local visitor from Bago Region.—Nay Myo Lwin (IPRD)
