Nay Pyi Taw, 11 April— Cooperative Union Minister U Kyaw Hsan opened two libraries each in Ywathaya and Lainkone villages, Pale Township of Sagaing region, on last week.
The minister urged locals to maintain and develop the libraries by keeping more books for potential readers as the two buildings and furniture have been set up.
The Union minister and government officials also donated Sky Net TV receivers to the presiding monks from Lainkone, Ywatha, Ywahtin, Shwelaung, KyokyaU and Thedaw villages.
U Kyaw Hsan said the locals that the union government and the state government will use more than K15 billion in 2015-2016 fiscal year in Pale Township for education, health, irrigation, bridges, roads, water supply, electricity distribution and other rural development programmes.
He added that the cooperative ministry’s micro-loan system is included under sustainable development programmes to help people free from high interest loans, saying that individual village in this programme will have the fund of K10 million next four years.
The minister then provided K500,000 for construction of a library in Ywatha village, K1 million for construction of post-primary school, and agricultural inputs of paddy seeds, fertilizers and household items.—MNA
