Community Based Tourism launches in Taninthayi Region

A ceremony was held to launch Community Based Tourism (CBT) in Sanhlan Village, Launglon Township, Taninthayi Region on 25 October.
At the ceremony, Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Ohn Maung, Taninthayi Region Chief Minister Dr. Daw Lae Lae Maw, Taninthayi Region Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Myint Maung and Community Based Tourism Chairman U Aung Myo cut the ceremonial ribbon to open the entrance gate of CBT.
Union Minister U Ohn Maung delivered an opening speech, saying everyone’s support is required to implement CBT and the local people’s living standard will develop by implementing CBT.
Next Taninthayi Region Chief Minister Dr. Daw Lae Lae Maw gave an opening remark while Hotels and Tourism Dawei Branch Director U Nyo Aye, CBT Chairman U Aung Myo, U Harry Phone Thant provided detailed explanation about the CBT implementation process.
The ceremony was attended by Taninthayi Region government ministers, Hluttaw representatives, departmental heads, hotel businesses and tourism entrepreneurs, CBT committee members and village elders.
