Coordination meeting held to establish movie studio, skills training school in Nay Pyi Taw

A coordination meeting to discuss plans and arrangements to establish movie studios and skills training school for the development of the Myanmar motion picture sector was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Information in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
At the meeting, Union Minister for Information Dr. Pe Myint spoke about establishing outdoor and indoor movie shooting locales in Nay Pyi Taw. The Union Minister spoke about the requirement of a movie studio and a training school to raise the image of Myanmar through the art of motion picture and for the development of Myanmar motion picture.
The Union Minister said the Ministry of Information would assist in establishing movie studios and skills training school and urged all attending the meeting to discuss the development of the Myanmar motion picture sector. He added that another coordination meeting would be held in Yangon.
Next, Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung discussed short- and long-term works for the development of the Myanmar motion picture sector, matters to be coordinated and worked on to overcome the country’s lack of movie studios and discussed matters related to the sectorial requirements to construct a movie studio in Nay Pyi Taw. Later, Myanma Radio and Television Director-General U Myint Htway discussed about cooperating in the development of the Myanmar motion picture sector, while Information and Public Relations Department Director-General U Ye Naing discussed the works conducted for the Myanmar motion picture development.
Following this, Forever Group Co. Ltd. CEO U Win Maw and Shwe Than Lwin Media Company Limited Chairman Daw Myint Myint Win discussed establishing a movie training school and studios. The Union Minister coordinated on the matters that were discussed. — Myanmar News Agency
