Local and foreign experts engage in discussions on progress of reform and future prospects of Myanmar

Myanmar Summit entitled “Taking Stock” that focused on reform and upcoming elections in Myanmar organized by the Economist Events was held at the Strand Hotel in Yangon on Friday morning.
Southeast Asian Region Representative Richard Cockett extended greeting by saying that discussions of current affairs and future prospects of Myanmar by local and foreign experts would contribute to building a better society in Myanmar.
Union Minister for Information U Ye Htut explained the implementation of reform measures and challenges encountered in Myanmar.
Union Minister U Ye Htut, Presidential Advisor on Economics Prof Dr Aung Tun Thet, U Robert San Pe and Chairman of First Private Bank U Sein Maung took part from the leading role in the discussions entitled “Conversation with Builders of Reform”, which was chaired by Richard Cockett.
Local and foreign experts engaged in discussions on statistics of investment in Myanmar, transition in Myanmar, puzzles of human resources development, requirements for infrastructure development, ways and means for financial development in Myanmar, new generation of Myanmar, peace building in Myanmar and post-2015 prospects for Myanmar.
The facilitators responded to queries raised by participants.
