Local, foreign media collects news in Maungtaw

A GROUP comprised of local and foreign media visited Taung Pyo Letwe reception center in Maungtaw Township, Rakhine State, yesterday.
First, they visited friendship bridge in Taung Pyo Letwe Town. After the visit, they interviewed with officials from Taung Pyo Letwe reception center. At the meeting, the journalists also interviewed the people living at Myanmar-Bangladesh border line. In the afternoon, the media group arrived back to Yangon by air from Sittway.
The media delegation comprised of journalists from Yomiuri Shimbun, MIR, Mizzima Media, Channel 4 News, Swiss TV, MRTV, MITV and MNA.
Since the incident in October 2016, media groups have been allowed access to Rakhine State once in 2016, eight times in 2017, and seventeen times in 2018, making a total of twenty-six visits.
The Committee for Implementation of the Recommendations on Rakhine State has planned for conducting two guided media trips per month within 2018.— Aung Ye Thwin
