Mandalay Region Rural Road Development Dept to construct 35 roads, 22 bridges under mini-budget 2021-2022

Mandalay Region Department of Rural Road Development will implement 35 roads and 22 bridges in 23 townships under the six-month mini-budget 2021-2022 (October-March).
This rural road infrastructure will be carried out in 23 townships of seven districts in the region, spending K2.9 billion allocation of the Union Budget and K3.9 billion of the regional budget. The tar roads, gravel roads, concrete roads and concrete bridges and box culverts will be constructed, said U Myo, director of Mandalay Region Department of Rural Road Development.
“The department will invite tender to build the roads and bridges. Our department will build upgrades, builds and repairs roads and bridges to facilitate rural people. This road infrastructure is helpful in the all-around season. It is essential for the socio-economic development of the rural residents, alleviating poverty and narrowing the gap between urban and rural people. It will also help transport the vegetables to the markets. It will enhance tourism, small and medium-sized enterprise, education and health sectors,” he said.
This project will be undertaken in 23 townships in Mandalay, Kyaukse, NyaungU, PyinOoLwin, Myingyan, Meiktila and Yamethin districts. — Min Htet Aung (Mdy Sub-Printing House)/GNLM
