Announcement on COVID-19 Related Guidance for Workplaces and Businesses

1. All workers must wear masks and face shields not only in workplaces but also in other places whenever they go outside. All workers must wear masks and face shields on their way to workplaces or homes, too. Workers must keep six feet from other people, and wear masks and face shields during human interactions.

2. All workers must wash their hands with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer (at least 60 % alcohol concentration) for 20 seconds at entrances of the workplaces, and must wash their hands before going to dining rooms and restrooms, and before or after eating. Workers must not touch their eyes, nose and mouth without washing their hands.

3. While eating, every worker must keep six feet from other people in the dining room or the workers can eat their meals at their work desks, or the workers can eat at different times to avoid gathering in groups. The employer must arrange in order that the workers can eat meals in accordance with the guidelines.

4. If a worker tested positive for COVID-19, his/her workmates who have to work around him/her, and his/her workmates from the same section of the workplace, and those who stay in the same hostel with the patient, and those who took the same ferry, and those who ate together with the patient must be ordered not to come to the workplace.

5. Tell the workers about the ten main points for prevention and control of COVID-19 in workplaces (“Start with yourself to prevent Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19”) before they (start working/eat/go back to home) for about two minutes.

6. Currently, 71 per cent of COVID-19 patients in Myanmar have no symptoms, so all workers need to adhere to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Sports.
