MoC Union Minister inspects roads, bridges construction, maintenance works

Union Minister for Construction U Shwe Lay inspected roads and bridges construction and maintenance work under the road network development project in Delta areas of Ayeyawady Region on 19 and 20 March.
Firstly, the Union minister and party inspected the upgrading of Yangon-Pathein Road and the concrete upgrading works of the mile Kyonkanaung-Pantanaw-Shwelaung-Wakema Road. He instructed officials to meet set standards in the concrete-paving works and build box culverts, small bridges in necessary places according to the road design and the road shoulder after concrete-paving works. The Union minister also inspected the concrete-paving works by machine between Milepost 13/0 and 13/1.
Afterwards, the Union minister and party arrived at the construction site of the old cable-stayed bridge Panmawady Bridge (Myinkaseik) on the Pathein-Kankon-Myinkaseik- Myaungmya Road, which is to be upgraded to a 1,260-foot-long concrete bridge and officials briefed the construction work at the briefing hall.
The Union minister said that the roads are at present being upgraded and at the same time weak cable-stayed bridges are needed to be upgraded as concrete bridges using the technical designs of skilled engineers. He called on officials to emphasize meeting set standards.
After that, the Union minister and party inspected the strength of the cable tower, the suspensions and the main section of the old cable-stayed bridge in Pathein and coordinated the necessary things. Next, he looked around the new Pathein Bridge and the Strand Road.
On 20 March, the Union minister and party inspected the maintenance and concrete-paving of Road No. 10 Bogale-Mawlamyinegyun-Kyonemange-Wakema-Myaungmya Road under the road network development project in Delta areas of the Ayeyawady Region.
Union Minister U Shwe Lay arrived at the major renovation site of the Maha Pasana Cave at Kaba Aye Hill, Mayangon Township in Yangon and officials explained the renovation works at the construction project hall.
