MoH Union Minister attends handover ceremony for promotion to Senior Nursing Officer — Staff Officer (Nurse)

Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win attended a handover ceremony of promotion letters to the rank of Senior Nursing Officer/Staff Officer (Nurse) held yesterday morning in Nay Pyi Taw.
At the ceremony, the Union minister congratulated 150 nurses who have been promoted to the position of Senior Nursing Officer/Staff Officer (Nurse) and Nursing Officer in charge/Deputy Nursing Officer.
The government is giving special priority to the health sector. Allowances for uniforms, night meals charges of night duty, and postgraduate allowance are being awarded. The Union minister said the ministry has taken the time to coordinate with other departments in planning to train nurses as officers, and a total of 150 nurses were systematically promoted based on the annual performance records.

He called for the promoted nurses to take the lead in the management of the relevant hospitals/departments as well as the patient care activities, with more effective management to ensure quality and safe health care.
The Ministry of Health has selected nurses from various regions/states based on their annual performance appraisal records. The new nurses will be trained at the Nay Pyi Taw Medical Services Department on 5 and 6 July. — MNA
