Union Minister Dr Thet Khaing Win holds talks with the FDA officials yesterday.

Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr Thet Khaing Win met the officials Department of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The Union Minister appreciated the efforts of FDA for ensuring safe and quality foodstuff and medicines in the country.
He also discussed quick inspections on food and medicines as a supportive manner to revise the businesses in the post COVID-19 period, e-submission system, online payment system to the state to eradicate the possibility of corruption, systematic inspection on foodstuff like sugar, salt and fat contact to prevent from hyper tension, diabetes, heart disease and cancer and Post Market Surveillance.
The Union Minister also talked about the requests to the healthcare workers to return to their duties starting 8 February and contact numbers and email addresses for them to inform the officials if they find difficulties in returning to their duties.
He also said the healthcare workers should serve their duties as quickly as possible. The postgraduate diploma in medicines, master of medical science courses and PhD courses will be opened soon and so FDA and relevant departments should cooperate to meet the needs of human resources.
Director-General of FDA Professor Dr Khin Zaw briefed about the work plans while Deputy Directors-General about offers of other countries to sign MOU and cooperation work with ASEAN’s FDA. FDA is currently serving online registration services for foodstuff, medicines, medical equipment and cosmetics. —MNA
