Myanmar and Thai armed forces to maintain unchangeable relationship

Myanmar and Thailand, members of ASEAN, have been maintaining friendly relations, diplomatic relations and military relations for sixty years, said Commander-in-Chief of Defence Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in meeting with Chief of Defence Forces General Worapong Sanganetra of the Royal Thai Armed Forces at Zeyathiri Beikman Hall in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.
The senior general thanked Thailand for its support in peace-making process of Myanmar for ensuring peace and stability of practising multiparty democracy system. He urged the Thai general to help all groups participate in eternal peace-making process. The senior general pointed out a key role of Thailand for ensuring peace and stability and democratization. The senior general confirmed Myanmar and Thai armed forces will maintain unchangeable relationship.
The Thai general claimed that he will try the best to further cement friendly ties between the two armed forces and promote cooperation between them in his tenure.
After that, they exchanged views on border affairs, effective elimination of narcotic drugs, close cooperation in exchange of information for combating terrorism.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla hosted a dinner to the Thai general and party at Aureum Palace Hotel.
In the morning, the senior general welcomed the Thai general at Zeyathiri Beikman and took salute of the Guard of Honour. The senior general presented his entourage to the Thai general who introduced his delegation members to the senior
general.
