Gem merchants were seen observing the jade lots in the previous emporium.

A seven-day Myanmar Gems Emporium will take place at Maniyadana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw between 19 and 25 October, according to the Central Committee on for Holding Myanmar Gems Emporium.
The central committee will hold this emporium under the supervision of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation.
Myanmar’s precious gems (pearl, jade lots, gems and jewellery) will be exhibited at the emporium.
Those Myanmar citizen entrepreneurs, who are legally involved in mining activities under the Myanmar Gemstone Law and engaged in gems trade by holding a licence, are therefore entitled to attend the emporium.
Last April, the central committee held its 57th Myanmar Gems Emporium at Maniyadana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw between 22 and 28 April.
At present, Lonkhin, Phakant, Mawlu and Mawhan gem and jade mining businesses in Kachin State have been suspended with a view to supporting sustainable resource extraction for future generations, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of jade and gems mines, the Myanmar Gems Enterprise under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation declared on 1 April. — NN/GNLM
