Nay Pyi Taw Council Area plans to grow over 10,000 acres of summer paddy

0000 (3)Nay Pyi Taw, 23 Nov — The Myanmar Agricultural Public Corporation Company Ltd (MAPCO) held a coordination meeting with local farmers in Yepyar Village Basic Education Primary School in Lewe Township on 21 November.
The meeting was focused on the cultivation of summer paddy in 2014-15 through mutual cooperation between the farmers and the company.
The company will provide quality paddy seeds and assistance for applying good agricultural patters in the fields for the farmers. Moreover, it will deliver one bag of compound fertilizer per acre of Palethwe paddy strain, one bag of Pearl fertilizer and K50,000 as an agricultural loan to each of the farmers.
When the paddy has been harvested, the farmers are to sell the paddy at K4,000 per basket to pay the company back for K131,500 in expenses including inputs and loans provided in advance by the company. The remaining paddy can be sold at the street price. A plan was adopted to grow 13,000 acres of summer paddy in the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area in 2014-15. Of that number, local farmers and MAPCO will cooperate in the cultivation of 10,000 acres of summer paddy.
Pyinmana Township plans to grow 950 acres of paddy, Lewe Township, 3,760 acres, Dekkhinathiri Township, 900 acres, Zabuthiri Township, 560 acres, Pobbathiri Township, 160 acres, Ottarathiri Township, 100 acres, Zeyathiri Township, 2,700 acres and Tatkon Township, 870 acres. Ko Pauk (Okkar Myay)
