Nyaungdon Township Pyithu Hluttaw representatives, management committee, health department, government departments and civil society organizations are regularly spraying disinfectants to combat COVID-19.
Over a hundred people returning from abroad are being taken care of in the local government school buildings. Officials from the health department and other government departments, civil society organizations and local residents are providing assistance as well.
Basic commodities such as rice and cooking oil are being sold at normal prices with a bag of rice being sold for K24,000, with about 100,000 bags of rice arranged.
The Ayeyawady Region Government has also issued orders for restaurants, tea shops, liquor shops and other roadside stalls and hawkers to suspend dine-ins and offer takeaway instead.
