Nay Pyi Taw, 3 March—President U Thein Sein and wife Daw Khin Khin Win attended a ceremony to offer meals to venerable Buddhist monks who will accept religious titles for 2015, at Sasana Maha Beikman building in the precinct of Uppatasanti Pagoda, here, Tuesday.
Chairman of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhammajotika Dr. Bhaddanta Kumarabhivamsa administered the Nine Precepts. Members of the Sangha recited Metta Sutta.
The President and officials donated offertories to title recipient Sayadaws and nuns.
Vice Chairman abbot of Atulakari Hsinmin Monastery in Mandalay Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Obhasabhivamsa delivered a sermon, followed by sharing merits.

Also present at the ceremony were Vice Presidents Dr Sai Mauk Kham and U Nyan Tun and wives, Speaker of Pyithu Hluttaw Thura U Shwe Mann, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife, the chairman of the Constitutional Tribunal of the Union, the chairman of the Union Election Commission, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and wife, the deputy speaker of Pyithu Hluttaw and wife, union ministers, deputy ministers, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command and departmental heads.
