President U Win Myint who was in Nepal to attend the Fourth Summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) met separately with the Indian Prime Minister, Interim Government of Bhutan Chief Advisor and Nepal Business Association Chairman and party yesterday.
President U Win Myint met with Republic of India Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the Madhavi Hall, Soaltee Crown Plaza Hotel, Kathmandu yesterday morning at local standard time 10:15 am.
During the meeting continuation of India’s positive cooperation toward Rakhine State development, increasing the momentum of the Kaladan River project, increasing bilateral relations and cooperation were discussed.
Next, President U Win Myint met with Interim Government of Bhutan Chief Advisor Mr. Dasho Tshering Wangchuk in the Tilicho Room, Soaltee Crown Plaza Hotel, Kathmandu yesterday afternoon at local standard time 1 pm.
In the meeting, matters relating to bilateral visits, promoting people-to-people connectivity between the two countries, bilateral relations and cooperation, initiating air link between Myanmar and Bhutan were discussed.
Afterwards, President U Win Myint met with Nepal Chamber of Connerce President Mr. Rajesh Kazi Shrestha and party during which the attendance of Myanmar companies and merchants at a trade fair in Nepal, increasing bilateral trade and visits between business persons of the two countries were discussed.
Present at the meetings were Union Minister for International Cooperation U Kyaw Tin, Myanmar Ambassador to Nepal Thiri Pyanchi U Tun Nay Lin and officials.— Myanmar News Agency
