Residents in Kengtung Township were screened for COVID-19 infection with RDT Test Kits free of charge and those who were not infected with the diseases received the first dose of Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine on 21 November.
The screening test was carried out to further reduce the incidence of the COVID-19 virus in Kengtung Township and 13 of 1,137 people had been tested positive for COVID-19, with an infection rate of 1.14 per cent. Those who were diagnosed with COVID-19 were systematically sent to the confirmed patient ward for medical treatment, and those who had tested negative and who had not received the vaccination were administered the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccines.
It is reported that the Township Administration Body, police, medics, healthcare professionals, members of the fire brigade and civil society organizations, collaborated for the free COVID-19 screening test in city checkpoints, villages, wards, Kengtung Public Hospital and fever clinics.
From 29 June up till 21 November, 5,474 COVID-19 positive patients admitted to hospitals, 5,244 people recovered, 92 deaths, and 138 confirmed patients currently under treatment in Kengtung Township.
