The groundbreaking Swiss-built aircraft Solar Impulse-2 is preparing to depart for China after nearly a week in Mandalay.
The plane, powered entirely by the sun, landed at Mandalay International Airport on 19 March at 8 pm. University and basic education students, along with other members of the public, have been given the opportunity to view the plane, with officials from the aircraft’s support team giving talks on the use of solar power.
At present, the aircraft is making preparations to proceed to China on 27 March. On its way to China, the solar impulse will pass over Sagaing Hill, Mandalay Hill and Ayeyawady River.
