Solar Impulse-2 to leave Mandalay on 30 March if weather is fine


The Swiss-designed Solar Impulse-2 is preparing to continue on its global circumnavigation and will depart Mandalay for Chonqing in China on March 30 if weather permits.
The aircraft remains grounded at Mandalay International Airport due to poor weather.
The aircraft built with the use of 17,000 solar cells worth US$ 130 million can fly five days successively.
The impulse arrived at Mandalay International Airport on the fourth leg of its journey from Varanasi Airport in India on 19 March.
If the weather is fine, the aircraft will leave Mandalay International Airport for Chongqing of China 29 March night to fly over Mandalay Hill.–Thiha Ko Ko (Mandalay)
