A Supply planning workshop for procurement of medicines and medical products was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Health and Sports, Nay Pyi Taw, on 3 September.
In her opening speech at the workshop, Deputy Minister for Health and Sports Dr. Mya Lay Sein said implementing universal health coverage is the main goal of the National Health Strategy, and supply planning for procurement of medicines and medical products plays a major role in the ministry’s efforts towards reaching this goal in cooperation with other related departments.
The deputy minister also urged experienced hospital superintendents and persons in charge of procurement and distribution from various states and regions to discuss on finding a good solution and establishing a model distribution system in cooperation with the central (department).
The workshop was attended by 180 attendees, including Ministry of Health and Sports deputy permanent secretary, Department of Medical Services deputy directors General, officials from Ministry of Industry and Nay Pyi Taw Council, heads of states/regions Public Health Department and Medical Services Department, hospital superintendents, project managers, persons in charge of procurement and distribution and invited guests.
The three-day workshop is being held from 3 to 5 September, it is learnt.
