Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Win Myat Aye received Ms. Christine Schraner Burgener, Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General on Myanmar, yesterday morning, at the Maykhalar Hall at the Minister’s office in Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, they discussed matters relating to drawing up a strategy on closing down the internally displaced persons camps, preparing Fact-Sheet to give true information for the repatriation process, forming Pyithu Hluttaw committee to check the appeal and complaint letters, rendering humanitarian assistance to the people displaced by AA attacks, the movements of Red Cross Association in cooperation with ICRC and IFRC, drawing up schemes by the committee on implementing the recommendations on Rakhine State for cooperation with related ministries, cooperation with AHA centre, attracting investments to Rakhine State, the status of amending the child rights law and formation of National Committee and work committees for Preventing Grave Violations against Children in Armed Conflicts. – MNA (Translated by Win Ko Ko Aung)
