Union Minister U Shwe Lay inspects road, bridge construction in Ayeyawady region, upgrading work of highway road

Union Minister for Construction U Shwe Lay inspected the completion of the Thandwe-Gwa-Ngathainggyoung concrete road upgrade work implemented by the Department of Highways of Ayeyawady Region on 9 May.
During his inspection tour of Ayeyawady Region, the Union Minister and party inspected concrete paving work on Yanmyoaung-Yonetone-Asugyi-Shwenantha road, completion of the 200-foot-long Singu concrete bridge under implementation with the regional fund in Yekyi Township, maintenance work to the Bo Myat Tun bridge on the Yangon-Pathein road and the upgrade of concrete road to Hlinethaya from the bridge and posting of road signs.
On 10 May, the Union Minister and party inspected the maintenance work of the Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw-Mandalay Expressway and bridge constructions along the route.
The Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw-Mandalay Expressway is 366/3 miles long from Yangon to Mandalay. The Ministry of Construction has been carrying out upgrade work from concrete road to asphalt concrete (AC) level and making guard rails, warning sign and direction signs for road safety.
Similarly, the Department of Bridges, the Bridge Task Force and the Bridge Maintenance Team are upgrading and maintaining a two-lane bridge to the four-lane bridge on the Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw-Mandalay Expressway. — MNA
