Union PFI Minister discusses economic prospects with Young President Organization


Union Minister for Planning, Finance and Industry U Soe Win met members of the Young President Organization (YPO) Yangon Chapter at the National Records and Archives Department in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
The theme of the meeting was ‘Future Economic Prospects of Myanmar and Recommended Areas of Cooperation for Businesses’, and was attended by Deputy Ministers, permanent secretaries, directors-general, deputy directors-general, YPO Yangon Chapter members, and other officials.
The Union Minister discussed the Union government’s implementation of the Myanmar Sustainable Development Plan, the formation of the Project Bank to facilitate the processes of the MSDP, establishing the Public-Private Partnership Centre to work together with Project Bank, promoting a digital economy and developing economic sectors by basing off it, and how establishing the Digital Economy Development Committee aims to improve the socioeconomic livelihoods of citizens through their use of digital technology.
The Union Minister also discussed tax affairs and how customs duty is handled, and working for the formation of a loan insurance organization with regards to providing loans to micro, small and medium enterprises.
Next, the YPO members discussed Myanmar’s economic prospects and their current and future processes. They also raised questions to which the Union Minister and officials replied. —MNA (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
