Vessel SAM Ratulangi PD found stranded in Bay of Mottama

A vessel with the flag of Indonesia was found stranded in the Bay of Mottama on 28 August.
Local fishermen found the SAM Ratulangi PD in the sea near the Thamaseikta Village in Thongwa Township, Yangon Southern District.
Police from the Thongwa Township and navy officers from No. 1 Major War Vessel Group inspected the vessel.
The vessel is 177.35 metres long, 27.91 metres wide, weighing 26510 tons.
There was no sailors nor goods on the vessel with the Indonesian flag.
Smith Salvage Company initially informed the Myanma Port Authority of the Ministry of Transport and Communications that the vessel was not destined for Myanmar and it was being towed to Bangladesh.
