XII ASEAN Paralympic Games kicks off

An opening ceremony of the XII ASEAN Paralympic Games took place at Morodok Techo National Stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on 3 June with participation of athletes from ASEAN countries.
President of the Myanmar Paralympic Sports Federation Maj-Gen Hla Moe accompanied by team administrators, coaches, and Paralympic athletes attended the event.
At the opening ceremony, Member of the Cambodian National Assembly H.E Hun Many and the Chairman of the ASEAN Paralympics Federation of Cambodia delivered opening speeches. After the Prime Minister of Cambodia Mr Hun Sen clarified the purpose for hosting the XII ASEAN Paralympic Games, the official opening of the tourney announced.
Next, honorary gold medalist of Cambodia athletes carried the torch by hand and lit it, and the XII ASEAN Paralympic Games was opened.
Host Cambodia will feature 14 kinds of sports in the tourney while Myanmar will participate in the eight categories.—MNA/KZL
