Illegal timbers, fuel oil, boats and vehicles seized in different townships

SUPERVISED by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee, effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law.
A team led by officials of the Taninthayi Naval Region Command Headquarters in Bokpyin Township conducted inspections under the management of the Taninthayi Region Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force and captured two wooden boats worth K28,500,000 on 29 May. The action was taken under the Myanmar Marine Fisheries Law.
Moreover, on 31 May, the on-duty inspection team made inspections at the Hteedan container checkpoint and confiscated a Nissan Cabstar car that was over the ID period and was left by the owner (approximately K10,740,000). Police opened a case file under the Customs Law.
In addition, on 1 June, Police captured 10,842 gallons of illegal fuel oil worth K72,540,000 and action was taken under the Petroleum and Petroleum Products Law. Similarly, on the same day, Police seized two unregistered vehicles (approximately K4,000,000) and action was taken under the Export/Import Law.
On the same day, the Forest Department team seized 11.8900 tonnes of illegal timbers worth K1,737,664 in the Katha Township and action was charged under the Forest Law.
Thus, 14 arrests worth approximately K117,517,664 were made on 29, 31 May and 1 June, according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee. — MNA
