Fighting breaks out as government forces continue securing Laukkai

Government troops captured three small arms and ammunitions hidden by Kokang rebels in sugarcane plantations southwest of Laukkai on 19 February, while securing the town and its surrounding areas, officials said.
At 6 pm, Kokang rebels launched attacks on the government columns on the road linking Kongyan and Lawkwakyaing, and they were forced
to retreat after the army returned fire in hot pursuit.
On Friday afternoon, the two sides were engaged in fighting in two separate places.
