
Yangon, 14 June — The opening ceremony of Human Rights Human Dignity International Film Festival was held at the Nay Pyi Taw Cinema in Yangon on Sunday afternoon.
Present at the ceremony were Deputy Minister for Information U Pike Htway, ambassadors from foreign missions, civil society organizations, partner organizations, judges, film directors and guests.
At the ceremony, director of human rights science festival Min Htin Ko Ko Gyi read out the excerpts from the independence declaration of Myanmar (1948) and a film was screened.
During the festival, films directed by local and international directors will be shown free of charge at the Nay Pyi Taw and the Wizaya Cinemas in Yangon from 15 to 18 June.—MNA
