K280 mln worth of heroin seized in Kunhing township of Shan State

Seventy-two heroin blocks worth K280 million were confiscated in Kunhing township of Shan State, Myanmar Police Force stated.
A combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force searched a Crown Royal saloon driven by Chein Hoke accompanied by Ma Shein Hwal heading from Karli to Mongpyin township at the Tarkaw bridge combined checkpoint of Kunhing township and seized 23.98 kilogrammes of 72 heroin blocks at 9:30 am on 24 July.
According to the investigation, the suspect admitted that the seized drugs were to be carried from Namsang township to Kengtung township.
The suspects have been prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law and Police is carrying out investigations to capture traffickers, it is learnt. — MNA
