The Myanmar women’s national football team underwent special training yesterday at the Kang Chang-Hak football stadium in Jeju Island, South Korea as part of preparations for the third round of the 2020 AFC Women’s Olympics qualifying tournament.
The tournament will kick off on 3 February at the Jeju World Cup Stadium.
Team Myanmar arrived in Jeju Island on 30 January and started physical exercise and training sessions from the next day.
Myanmar has picked a mixed team which includes veteran strikers Khin Moe Wai and Win Theingi Tun, youth striker Myat Noe Khin, and veteran midfielder Khin Mar Lar Tun. In the opening match of the Olympics Qualifiers, Myanmar will face host South Korea. The match will start at 4:30 pm Myanmar Standard Time on
3 February. Myanmar will play against Viet Nam at 4:30 pm Myanmar Standard Time on 6 February.
If Myanmar wins one match and ends another with a draw, it will qualify to the next stage as only three teams are competing in Group A of the qualifiers — Myanmar, South Korea, and Viet Nam, said football experts. —Lynn Thit (Tgi)
