Myanmar’s medallists return from Penang Invitational Judo Championship 2023

The Myanmar Judo team, which won four gold medals, two silver medals and two bronze medals at the Penang Invitational Judo Championship 2023 held in Penang, Malaysia, from 9 to 10 December, returned to Yangon yesterday from Penang, Malaysia.
Officials and players’ parents welcomed them at Yangon International Airport.
Teams from France, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Brunei and Myanmar competed in the tourney. Myanmar joined 28, 32, 73, 66, 24, 90, 57, 50 and 60 kilogrammes events.
Myanmar’s Aung Zey Htet grabbed one gold medal in the 28-kg event, while Hnin Oo Wuttyi secured another goal medal. Next, Kyaw Khant Soe won another gold in the 73-kg event, and Htet Aung claimed another gold medal in the 66-kg event.
Meanwhile, Bhone Pyae Chantha Htun picked one silver while Aung Wai Phyo garnered one silver, and Ngwe Pon Chit and Khaing Khant brought one bronze medals each in 57-kg and 50-kg events. — MNA/KZL
