National Skill Standard Authority launches trial web portal

The web portal of the National Skill Standard Authority (NSSA), www.nsa.gov.mm, had a trial version launched at its focal ministry, the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The meeting was attended by the Union Minister, Deputy Minister, Permanent Secretary, directors-general, and other officials.
During the meeting, the Director-General of the Department of Labour said the NSSA web portal was assisted by GIZ and Information Matrix Co. Ltd and began in January 2019 and the Director of the Skills Development Sub-department explained the various stages of the design and system construction of the web portal.
Next, Union Minister U Thein Swe said the NSSA web portal can provide information in real time to all stakeholders in raising the skills of the Myanmar workforce. He said it is difficult to achieve long-term sustainability depending on the government’s budget and expressed his desire to link with training schools.
The Union Minister said they must make the NSSA web portal to become a networking system that for the changing future work and need to connect it to the national server. He called for suggestions on improvement after the trial launch and thanked GIZ and Information Matrix Co. Ltd.
The NSSA web portal will provide information on job opportunities, vocational training courses, job skill expertise reviews and certificates of skill acknowledgments. The authenticity of national skill certificates can also be checked online. —MNA (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
