The fourth group of volunteers began training yesterday morning to provide humanitarian services in Rakhine State in Yangon.
The training, along with a follow-up field tour by the Union Enterprise for Humanitarian Assistance, Resettlement and Development (UEHRD) in Rakhine State, will provide the volunteers with adequate experience, said Dr Daw San San Aye, Director General of Social Welfare Department, in her opening address.
The three-day course, from January 14 to 16, will provide instructions on basic legal procedures, in connection with the humanitarian services, preparations for the field tour, social harmony, conflict management, peace building and reconciliation.
Dr Daw San San Aye thanked the volunteers for their services in the interest of the nation, after explaining the three points of UEHRD, which involve ensuring the effectiveness of humanitarian services, coordination in rehabilitation and resettlement, and lasting regional progress and peace.
Volunteers will also learn about data compilation, documentation, reporting and conflict management in the areas where they are providing humanitarian services and aid.
The first course was held in Yangon from November 5 to 24, 2017, the second from November 24 to December 13, 2017, and the third from December 16, 2017, to January 4, 2018.—Myanmar News Agency
