MoHT Union minister meets hoteliers at Ngapali beach

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung toured Jasmine Ngapali Resort in Gaut Ward of Ngapali of Thandwe District to inspect the preparations of the hotel yesterday.
Then, the Union Minister went to Ngapali Dam in Lintha Chaung Village of Thandwe District and discussed with Ngapali municipal officials regarding the water storage of dam and water supply towards and hotels/guesthouses.
The dam was constructed in 1970 and it provided water to 2 wards, 1,110 homes and 46 hotels/guesthouses.
He also inspected the Aureum Palace Hotel & Resort which was reopened in line with the COVID-19 health rules in Mya Pyin Village.
At noon, he checked the operation of Amata Hotel at Ngapali beach and met the hoteliers and managers to discuss the hotel and tourism sector development programmes.
During the meeting, the Union Minister talked about the efforts to resume the tourism sectors in the world countries including Myanmar, aims of ministry to revive the international tours via the domestic tourism and traveller arrivals to beaches and other places as the local disease infection rate ranks at 4 per cent.
He also highlighted the holding of the Saung Oo festival at Ngapali Beach in line with the health rules and other needs to provide proper hotel services.
He instructed the officials to cooperate with the departmental personnel, entrepreneurs and residents for clean and sustainable beaches as the growth in tourist arrivals can provide the socio-economic status of locals.
Then, the Director of the Rakhine State Directorate of Hotel and To urism presented the certificate under Enchanting Myanmar Health & Safety Protocol to the Chairman of Myanmar Hotelier Association (Rakhine zone). — MNA
